To Africa,our objectives are to improve the standard of healthcare and education provision for African countries at the moment expressly in Zanzibar-East Africa. The work we do includes the placement of professional volunteers, infrastructural developments, the provision and repair of medical equipment, staff training and capacity building,working with local educational institutions to develop new and improved undergraduate and postgraduate curricula.
To Africa core values centred around making ethical, sustainable and mutually beneficial improvements to health and education systems. Our best believe is in transferring knowledge between professionals and students working in the health and education systems for the purpose of improving their skills and capacity. Achieving these values promises the achievements of long-term positive outcomes of the African countries we are working with.
To Africa planning to run numerous international development projects for the coming years including sustainable volunteering, biomedical engineering, infection prevention and control, cervical screening, developing a high dependency unit, promoting respectful maternity care, building accessible toilets within schools and supporting Blood Transfusion Service amongst others.
To Africa is open for volunteers including doctors, midwives, nurses, biomedical engineers, allied health professionals, social workers and social scientists; all of whom are arranged to work with local staff to exchange valuable knowledge, skills and experience to the mutual benefit of both sides.
Currently To Africa has begun to focus on the improving the education of students through undergraduate and postgraduate student exchange programmes. Our student placement project supported by the Zanzibar Health Ministry in Zanzibar-Tanzania (East Africa). All student placements are linked to To Africa’s ongoing development projects and are supervised by our highly competent team of professional volunteers and local staff. Our current student placement locations include National Hospital, Regional Hospital in Zanzibar, District Hospitals( Zanzibar) and rural health centres. We are planning to expand these great opportunities to Mainland Tanzania and other African counties.
